In this paper, we study the flow of blood as it enters the aorta from the left ventricle. Blood is treated as a homogeneous Newtonian fluid with a constant coefficient of viscosity \(\nu\). This is justified, since the diameter of the aorta is much larger compared to the dimensions of the blood cells, and the coefficients of viscosity is constant at the shear rates found in the aorta.
