The author characterizes a ''useful'' directed divergence [see the paper reviewed above] by weighted additivity and by a sum form property. This result is analogous to Lemma 1 and Theorem 1 in a paper of \textit{N. L. Aggarwal} and \textit{C. F. Picard} [Kybernetika 14, 174-181 (1978; Zbl 0385.94008)]. For recent results about ''useful'' information measures we refer to papers of \textit{C. F. Picard} [J. Comb. Inf. Syst. Sci. 4, 343-356 (1979; Zbl 0447.94011)] and \textit{Pl. Kannappan} [Stochastica 4, No.1, 15-22 (1980; Zbl 0468.39003)].
