The authors attempt to compare two approaches to the study of multi- valued mappings with convex images with main goal to understand a kind of ``a natural'' definition of the differentiability of such mappings. The first approach is in the spirit of approximation theory for multi-valued mappings (mathematical analysis) and the second approach is connected with the notion of a smooth field of convex bodies (geometry).
