The problem of interfacing an elliptic equation with a hyperbolic one in adjoining two-dimensional domains is considered. An iterative algorithm alternating the solution of the elliptic equation and of the hyperbolic equation within the subdomains is proposed. A spectral Chebyshev collocation method is used to discretize the resulting subproblems. This approach is suitable for computational fluid dynamic problems.
