In this paper the authors make use of the difference operator \(\Delta\) and the differential operator \(D_ q\) to give certain characterizations of the q-Bessel polynomials introduced by \textit{W. H. Abdi} [Math. Nachr. 30, 209-211 (1965; Zbl 0136.055)].
