The author studies an inverse coefficient problem for the wave equation \(u_{tt}=a^ 2(x)u_{xx}\). In a linearized statement, he proposes a method which reconstructs simultaneously the parameters of the elastic medium and the source of perturbation. Stability estimates are obtained.
