The authors study the existence, uniqueness, continuation, and asymptotic behaviour of solutions of a certain type of integro-differential equations on a Banach space, which are abstract models of partial differential and partial integro-differential equations arising in heat flow in materials with memory, viscoelasticity, and reaction-diffusion problems. Examples are also given to illustrate the results.
