Let \(X_ 1,...,X_ n\) be i.i.d. \(\{\) 0,1\(\}\)-valued random variables, and set \(M_ n^{(k)}=\sum^{n-k+1}_{i=1}\prod^{i+k-1}_{j=i}X_ j\), \(k\leq n\). The authors derive mainly the distribution and the probability generating function of \(M_ n^{(k)}\).
