The author modifies the approach of \textit{K. S. Fu}, Syntactic Methods in Pattern Recognition [Academic Press, New York (1974; Zbl 0311.68014)] to allow for certain regular fuzzy languages. She proves that for every formal finite fuzzy language an acceptor in the sense of Fu can be found and explains the algorithm to be implemented.
