The authors consider the notions of weakly pre-\textit{I}-open sets and weakly pre-\textit{I}-continuous functions. They show that a function \(f: X \rightarrow Y\) is continuous if and only if \(f\) is weakly pre-\textit{I}-continuous and strongly \(B_I\)-continuous.
