The author investigates lattice dynamical systems for second order in time local equations with certain linear operators and nonlinearities for the field and its time derivative, as well as forcing, posed on an unbounded \(n\)-dimensional lattice. These include, for instance, spatial discretizations of some strongly damped wave equations. The existence and upper semi-continuity of a global attractor are proven. This generalizes, e.g., previous results on bounded domains.
