The authors present a new preconditioning technique for solving nonsingular systems of equations, for which the matrix is nonnegative or is an \(M\)-matrix. In the case of nonnegative matrices, they derive properties for the spectral radius of the preconditioned Jacobi iteration matrix. Numerical experiments and comparisons with other well known algorithms are also presented.
