This paper studies a nonlinear dispersive equation of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) type. By means of Fourier series and fixed-point theorem the author proves local and global existence of periodic solutions. These equations arise in physical problems such as shallow water waves or crystalline lattices. The author also studies the polynomial growth of the solutions.
