This research investigates how the use of pooling contributes to the goal of increased service performance and reduced cost in the context of repairable spare parts inventory management. The author first discusses the pooling problem for the single-item inventory system. Then, the author considers the pooling problem for the multi-item inventory system. Finally, both the cooperative and competitive behavior of the participating companies in the inventory system is discussed. I think the problem is quite important and the paper is well-written.
