The exact solution of a Cauchy problem for an infinite chain of linear differential equations with constant coefficients is given, defining the recurrence relations for orthogonal polynomials. These solutions are found both for homogeneous and inhomogeneous systems. An example demonstrating an application of the presented formalism is given. This method of finding the solution of the Cauchy problem can also be used to solve a number of problems in laser chemistry and photochemistry.
