Local asymptotics of unfoldings of edge and corner catastrophes (Q829052)

The authors consider a general approach to constructing local asymptotics for edge catastrophes and give examples of singularities in which there is a joint focusing of both primary and secondary ray families. The use of symbolic computing and computer mathematics allows to calculate explicit expressions for the unfolding parameters of the edge zero-modal catastrophe $F_4$ and of the edge unimodal catastrophe $K_{4,2}$.
