From the introduction: ``The paper under review proposes to connect the canonical quantization formalism to the path integral one, instead of arbitrary quantizing classical mechanical systems, in order to give a physically well-established answer regarding the necessity of the metaplectic connection. The idea is that by considering the quantum mechanics as the more fundamental theory then the classical mechanics can make sense through only the action weighting the corresponding path integral of the quantum theory.''
