The main purpose of the referred paper is to provide a theoretical example showing the existence of Giffen behavior, which in fact does not correspond with the expectations supported by the common intuition. This existence is possible under the assumption that the indifference curves are smooth, convex and closed. The main results regard the uniqueness, positivity and interior optimality of the consumption bundle, the existence of nontrivial Giffen good, and the accessibility of the Giffen behavior.
