In the paper under review, it is shown that, for every integer \(n\), there exists a homology 3-sphere of Mazur type whose Casson invariant is \(2n\) (Corollary 2.4). To obtain this, the author compute the Casson invariant for some integral homology 3-spheres of Mazur type, which are given by double branched covers along certain ribbon knots of 1-fusion.
