Let \(\mathcal G\) be a hereditary class of modules. Then \(\mathcal G\)-covers are characterized in terms of injectivity of homomorphisms into \(\mathcal G\)-precovers and of surjectivity of homomorphisms from \(\mathcal G\)-precovers. Also, the author establishes several properties of (pre)covers of (relatively) injective modules and some relations between (relative) injectivity of modules and their (pre)covers.
