The authors study namely a multiscale cell boundary element method for elliptic problems. The homogenization theory in a periodic setting is reviewed. An approximation property is introduced. The multiscale cell boundary element method and the related numerical analysis is presented. The authors mentioned that exact flux conservation holds for the multiscale cell boundary element method with the cell boundary element fine scale solver. A transport problem is given to highlight the importance of the flux conservation property of a numerical scheme.
