This work is about one of the generalizations of ordinary continued fractions. In brief, a continued fraction to the nearest even number is an expression \[ b_0+(-1)/(b_1+(-1)/(b_2+(-1)/(b_3+...)))) \] (finite or infinite) where the elements are even integers (except for \(b_0\) that sometimes can be odd). The author studies convergence problems, existence and uniqueness of such continued fraction expansions, and says a few words on the case of quadratic irrationalities which are also periodic for such continued fractions.
