The author evaluates the rate of decay for solutions to second order parabolic equations (in divergence and in non-divergence form) which vanish on the boundary, while the right-hand side is allowed to be unbounded. The approach is based on a special growth lemma in domains satisfying a general exterior measure condition. This result generalizes a paper due to Cho and Safonov where the elliptic case is considered
