It is shown that for a \(C^0\)-generic subset of all two-dimensional conservative nonautonomous linear differential systems, either Lyapunov exponents are zero or there is a dominated splitting. Recall that the dominated splitting is a ``relaxed'' version of hyperbolicity which guarantees that the exponential behavior of both one-dimensional fiber bundles exists only relatively to each other (in distiction to the usual hyperbolicity property).
