The author discusses \(hp\)-Galerkin methods based on discontinuous finite elements for solving rotating disk electrode problems. These problems are described by one-dimensional reaction-convection-diffusion equations. A posteriori error bounds for the computed current of various reaction mechanisms are given and numerical examples are presented.
