The author studies the singularities of the scattering kernel for the elastic wave equation in the case of mode-conversion. By considering the case of non-backscattering and making more precise studies of oscillatory integrals than those in [\textit{H. Soga}, Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 161, 219--238 (1994; Zbl 0837.35143)], he proves that the first term in the asymptotic expansion of the kernel does not vanish and, under some conditions, it is different from zero and sufficiently small.
