On some cubature formulas on the sphere (Q855481)

Using a fundamental system of points on the two-dimensional sphere obtained by \textit{N. L. Fernández} [Int. Ser. Numer. Math. 142, 39--52 (2003; Zbl 1056.42027)], the authors construct interpolatory cubature rules on the two dimensional sphere. The main aim of this interesting paper is the construction of a spherical designs. A spherical designs is a set of points of the sphere which generates a cubature formula with equal weights. The authors also presents the cases when this cubature leads to positive weights.
