    The author argues that Aristotle's treatment of the notion of `faster' in his Physics and his argument that infinite bodies cannot have finite weight in De Caelo lend support to Wilbur Knorr's thesis that the Euclidean theory of proportions was preceded by a `two-step' Eudoxian theory of proportions.
