The authors obtain the determinantal expression for each of the products \(\prod_{i<j} (y-x_ix_j)\), \(\prod_{i\leq j} (y-x_ix_j)\). The obtained formulas are based on the representation of a Schur function in terms of hook Schur functions. Moreover, using symplectic and orthogonal characters the determinantal expressions for the products of the mentioned functions by any Schur function are obtained.
