The paper considers systems which are described by coupled multilayer Markov chains. Their stationary measures are numerically calculated in the case of a harmonically bound chain, and it is shown that the probability measures so obtained exhibit multiple extrema. Moreover the stationary probability measure can be calculated exactly in some special cases. The result so obtained is quite in accordance with the dynamics of a tethered DNA chain which is subject to shear flow with a sufficiently high shear rate.
