The author shows that the essential dimension of a finite-dimensional central algebra coincides with the essential dimension of its \(r\)-linear trace form, \((a_{1},\dots,a_{r})\mapsto \text{tr}(a_{1},\dots,a_{r}),\) for any \(r\geq 3. \)
