A new cohomology group (called ws-singular cohomology) is associated to an orbifold. Its general theory, the cup and cap products, the exact sequences, etc. are developed and for some orbifolds these groups are determined. Since for such examples Poincaré duality holds, the authors assert that ws-singular cohomology may be considered as an appropriate cohomology for an orbifold.
