The authors consider the Dirichlet problem for a class of nonlinear elliptic equations with nonstandard growth with variable exponents. This type of problem arises in many problems of fluid mechanics. The authors prove an homogenization result using a variational technique in Sobolev spaces with variable exponents. The result is then illustrated by a periodic example.
