This essay is based on the idea that information is mainly created by asymmetry. This is not too much surprising to the reviewer, as far as asymmetry creates forms which themselves generate information. This tract involves two main parts: the first one (more or less 60 pages) which can be thought of as a background on information theory (thermodynamics, algorithmics, encoding) with some introductory comments to the sequel, and the second part, the core of the book (70~p.) which analyzes the relation between information and symmetry. The book is easy to read\dots with practically no mathematics, which is not so bad. In our opinion, the concept of informational divergence is quite relevant and related to the author's concern, and as such, papers like Gatlin's and Kullback's, for instance, could be valuably mentioned in the reference list.
