The author solves the one-dimensional Bratu problem with efficient fourth-order iterative methods. Fourth-order iterative methods are presented and the order of convergence is analyzed. Fourth-order iterative methods are compared with the Newton and Chebyshev methods. Semi-local convergence analysis using Newton-Kantrorovich conditions is given and domains of existence and uniqueness of solutions are obtained.
