It is proved that in the class of \(n\)-ary semigroups entropicity and the generalized entropic property are equivalent only for \(n\)-ary semigroups with some additional properties. A new characterization of entropicity in the variety of semigroups satisfying the identity \(x^n\approx x\) for some \(n\geq 2\) is presented and free ternary Mal'tsev semigroups on two generators are described.
