Kawashima's relation is one that is believed to imply all relations among multiple zeta values. The interpolated multiple zeta value \(\zeta^t(\boldsymbol{k})\in\mathbb{R}[t]\), defined by \textit{S. Yamamoto} [J. Algebra 385, 102--114 (2013; Zbl 1336.11062)], is a polynomial that is equal to the multiple zeta value \(\zeta(\boldsymbol{k})\) when \(t=0\) and to the multiple zeta-star value \(\zeta^{\star}(\boldsymbol{k})\) when \(t=1\). The present paper extends Kawashima's relation to interpolated multiple zeta values, and applies the result to give another proof of the cyclic sum formula for interpolated multiple zeta values.
