Nevanlinna theory was established for meromorphic functions in the whole complex plane. The well-known first and second fundamental theorems play an important role in complex analysis. In this paper, the author considers value distribution theory of holomorphic curves in angular domains. The first and second fundamental theorems on meromorphic functions in angular domains, corresponding to theorems of Ahlfors-Shimizu, Nevanlinna and Tsuji, are discussed. In particular, the author confirms an analogue of the Ahlfors-Shimizu second fundamental theorem for holomorphic curves in angular domains. To show this, the author uses the exposition from the point of view of potential theory. As applications of these theorems, singular directions of holomorphic curves are introduced. Their existences and the growth of holomorphic curves with radially distributed hyperplanes of holomorphic curves in angular domains are investigated. The author also considers the ABC problem, a Fermat-type equation, the Waring problem, and uniqueness theorems for holomorphic curves in angular domains.
