The authors have given in [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 253, 1--13 (2013; Zbl 1288.65013)] a particular orthonormal basis that they called weighted singular value decomposition basis (WSVD basis) to study approximation algorithms. In this paper they present a new method for computing the WSVD basis based on the Lanczos algorithm which is very effective and faster than the original one.
