According to Jónsson and Monk every submodule of a finitely generated R-module M over a class of primary rings R is a union of cycles of the lattice of submodules. This and other results are generalized in this paper. Especially it is proved that every submodule of an R-module M is the union of completely ``\(\vee ''\)-irreducible elements of the lattice of submodules of M.
