Quantum orthogonal and symplectic groups \(O_ q(n)\) and \(Sp_ q(n)\) are defined, where q is an element of a field k. Their embeddings into q- analogues of GL(n) are considered. Similar constructions and results appear in a paper by \textit{N. Reshetikhin}, \textit{L. Takhtajan}, and \textit{L. Faddeev} [Algebraic analysis, Vol. 1, 129-139 (1989; Zbl 0677.17010)].
