Boundary value problems for a scalar quasi-linear second order ordinary differential equation is considered. Many methods and a lot of software exist for such problems. The author uses ideas from boundary element methods to derive a nonlinear system of algebraic equations of tridiagonal type. A report is given on a series of numerical experiments.
