Patterned methods of construction of group divisible (GD) designs are given by use of balanced incomplete block designs. One is provided for regular GD designs, while the other is for semiregular GD designs. All the designs constructed here have very large values of design parameters. Finally, a list of the parameters of 37 designs with \(v\leq 100\), \(b\leq 300\), \(r\leq 110\) and \(k\leq 50\) is provided with efficiency of designs and their construction theorems. No new design is produced within the scope of parameters in the practical range r, \(k\leq 10\). There are two misprints. \{Reviewer's remarks: A procedure of deleting some groups in a GD association scheme for an SRGD design again yields another SRGD design. The essence of the construction in this paper was already mentioned in papers by the reviewer [Stat. Probab. Lett. 3, 25-27 (1985; Zbl 0562.62063)] and the reviewer, \textit{Bhagwandas} and \textit{S. Banerjee} [Commun. Stat. Theory Methods 14, 1259-1267 (1985; Zbl 0574.62072)].\}
