The stationary state equation for the class A Bianchi model, which had been derived by Padmanabhan in 1984, is reduced by separation and simple coordinate transformations to a second order linear p.d.e. in two variables whose coefficients are quadratic with respect to these variables. Well known results on the classification of linear p.d.e.'s are then rederived, and finally, two particular types of power series solutions of the present equation are given whose physical relevance remains open. There are many misprints.
