Let \(n_ a,n_ b,n_ c\) be the Nagel cevians of a triangle. \textit{R. H. Eddie} [Elem. Math. 41, 128-130 (1986; Zbl 0604.51011)] proved that \(\sum n_ a\leq 14R-19r\) where R is the circumradius and r the inradius of the triangle. The author obtains the alternative inequality \(\sum n_ a\leq 10R-11r.\)
