Examples on polynomial invariants of knots and links. II (Q913312)

This is a continuation of Part I [Math. Ann. 275, 555-572 (1986; Zbl 0584.57005)]. In this paper, the following examples for 2-bridge knots and links are constructed: arbitrarily many skein equivalent fibered 2-bridge knots, arbitrarily many skein equivalent 2-bridge links with mutually distinct 2-variable Alexander polynomials, and arbitrarily many 2-bridge links with the same 2-variable Alexander polynomial but mutually distinct Jones polynomials. Concerning the Kauffman polynomial of the 2-bridge links and 3-braid links, some examples are constructed. However, more improved examples will be found in the author's paper: ``Kauffman polynomials for 2-bridge knots and links'' [Yokohama Math. J. (to appear)], where arbitrarily many skein equivalent 2-bridge knots (resp. links) with the same Kauffman (resp. Kauffman and 2-variable Alexander) polynomial are constructed.
