A certain numerical method of identifying the solidification front in the continuous casting volume is presented. The algorithm belongs to a group of collocation methods, and spline functions are used for the approximation of the temperature field in the considered area. The numerical model of the analyzed problem is reduced to the multiple solution of systems of algebraic equations. In the final part of the paper examples of the obtained results are presented.
