The aim of this paper is to give some characterizations of commutative von Neumann regular rings. For instance, it is shown that a commutative ring with identity R is Noetherian and regular in the von Neumann's sense iff R is semiprime and every radical ideal has a unique representation as an intersection of prime ideals.
