Let S be a countable, divisible Abelian semigroup with identity element. It is shown that every positive definite function on S has a unique integral representation of Bochner type over the set of all nonzero real semicharacters of S. The result is used to show that completely negative definite functions on S can be characterized in terms of Schur monotonicity.
