The authors try to construct a polynomial second order basis for the three sided two-dimensional finite elements with one curved side. The idea is to approximate the curved side by an arc of hyperbola. The constructed basis is used to calculate approximate solutions for the Dirichlet problem of the Laplace equation over the unit disk. The work offers an idea that could be more profoundly analyzed.
